SEOUL, Dec. 14 (Yonhap) -- The reigning South Korean baseball champions SK Wyverns announced Friday they've resigned their Canadian slugger Jamie Romak.

The 2018 Korean Series winners said Romak will return for his third season for US$1.3 million -- with $1.05 million in guaranteed salary and a $250,000 team option.

Romak earned $500,000 in 2018.

In 141 games this year, Romak launched 43 home runs to tie for second in the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) while batting .316, driving in 107 runs and scoring 102 runs. He became the first Wyvern to hit better than .300 while putting up at least 40 home runs, 100 RBIs and 100 runs scored.

In 243 KBO games so far, Romak has smacked 74 home runs.

By retaining Romak for another year, the Wyverns have completed their foreign player signings for 2019. They also re-signed pitcher Angel Sanchez for another year and acquired right-hander Brock Dykxhoorn in place of departed right-hander Merrill Kelly.
